Dr. Johanna Budwig
Dr. Johanna Budwig was one of the most amazing women of all time. A German biochemist, cancer researcher and a
doctor of physics, she was absolutely a genius in the field of health, science and medicine.
Dr. Budvig spent many years researching cancer by studying the blood of cancer patients and making comparisons
to the blood of healthy individuals. Her findings were astonishing.
Realizing that the blood of cancer patients was lacking in lipoproteins & phosphatides, whereas the blood of
healthy individuals (who didn’t have cancer) was not. In fact, the people who did not have cancer actually had an
abundance of these substances in their blood.
Another important discovery by Dr. Budwig was about hydrogenated oils, or trans fats. She concluded that they were
terribly unhealthy, and were actually the major cause of many serious illnesses.
It was Dr. Budwig’s expert opinion that almost all forms of cancer are caused by diet & lifestyle choices, and
also that cancer could be reversed by making the appropriate dietary & lifestyle changes, as described in the
Budwig Protocol.
In 1931, Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for his findings in cancer research and Dr. Budwig continued upon his
findings. It was discovered that cancer cells cannot survive in an oxygenated environment.
This is why the flax oil & cottage cheese is such an important part of the anti-cancer diet, because when
this highly unsaturated fat (flaxseed oil) is mixed (until emulsified) with a sulfuric based protein (such as
cottage cheese) and then consumed, it causes a chemical reaction which immediately begins to provide oxygen to the
cells in the body. It’s all very scientific.
The Anti-Cancer diet, developed by Dr. Budwig, was designed to get the cells restored to their normal state of
functioning. It eliminates foods which do damage and replaces them with life-giving natural foods rich in nutrients
and essential omega 3 fatty acids. This diet is an important part of the Budwig Protocol.
She discovered that diseases such as arthritis, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and nearly 50 other diseases all
shared on common denominator, which was inflammation (at the cellular level). Her protocol (which included a daily
dose of flax oil & cottage cheese) was very effective in treating all of those diseases.
Many of the terminally ill cancer patients, who came to her for treatment, had already been told by their Doctor
that nothing else could be done. So, basically they had been sent home to die. However, after being treated by Dr.
Budwig’s Protocol, about 90% of them fully regained their health.
As you can imagine, when terminally ill cancer patients are showing such great success, word of mouth travels fast.
Dr. Budwig soon became known as one of Europe’s leading cancer researchers.
Throughout her career, she was nominated seven times for a Nobel prize. She did not actually win though, and it is
thought by many that the reason she didn’t win is because she made it clear that she strongly opposed traditional
cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and/or radiation.
It's no surprise this caused conflict with the medical community. In fact, Dr. Budwig eventually ended up in court,
but the case was later dropped because they didn’t stand a chance of winning the case, as Dr. Budwig’s findings
were backed by solid research and results.
